2011-12-01 12:35:53 -- San Diego -- This is a formal announcement that the current checkout flow that is in use on all stores is now considered deprecated/sunset. That means we will no longer be making enhancements or changes to it, and only critical bug-fixes will be performed.

We are announcing a final sunset (end-of-life) for the current checkout process of January 1st, 2013. Any new enhancement requests to checkout will be done as part of the HTML5/JQuery based checkout that was announced in the Facebook group today. All open tickets related to checkout enhancements will be closed today and directed to the facebook group to discuss them in a more public forum.

The first official [supported] builds of the one page checkout are anticipated shortly after Christmas this year (prior to 2012).

Shortly thereafter we will be working with each client to establish a migration plan to the new checkout/HTML5 JQuery functionality, this is primarily to give people as much advanced notice as possible.
